Steel Buildings faq's
Texas experiences many natural disasters like flooding, wildfires, tornados, hurricanes, and hailstorms, making it all the more important to have something stronger, more reliable, and long-lasting to protect your valuables. The certified steel buildings offered by Panhandle Metals are designed to handle heavy snow, wind, and rain pressure and are certified to resist winds of 120 to 150 miles per hour. Additionally, they are designed to meet the Texas building codes and regulations and also come with better engineering and more support anchors.
The time it takes to install a structure varies depending on the size of the building. In addition, the weather and condition of the foundation can also be influential. Generally, our teams are able to install a typical carport in less than two hours. An average garage installation will take about six hours, while a standard barn should take eight hours to complete. However, larger metal buildings may take a few days to be fully assembled.
Foundation is the most crucial element for metal building installation; an improper foundation can lead to a disastrous fall of your steel structure. The right foundation provides better stability. There are four types of foundations that are commonly used for metal buildings: asphalt, gravel, concrete, and ground.
Note: We do not provide foundation services with our structures. However, a concrete foundation is the one we suggest for your metal building. Beforehand, it is recommended to get your foundation job done by taking help from local concrete or gravel contractor.
The delivery time of an order can differ due to many factors, such as its size and location. Mostly, the expected waiting period is between two to six weeks. However, we make sure that our customers don't have to wait more than sixty days to receive their building.
We provide rebar, concrete, mobile home, and asphalt anchors. However, the anchoring system will depend on the type of foundation you prefer for your metal building project. For example, all concrete foundation requires concrete anchoring system.
In the metal building industry, the gauge indicates the thickness of the steel framing (also considered as tubing), usually built with 12-gauge steel or 14-gauge steel. However, 14-gauge framing is the standard gauge size, measuring at 2 ½” x 2 ½”, used for smaller metal buildings in areas with mild weather conditions. Whereas 12-gauge framing measuring at 2 ¼” x 2 ¼” is used for large metal buildings and is perfect for areas with inclement weather conditions.
Every component of our metal buildings is customizable, right from the roof, the color of your roof, trim, and walls. In addition, you can customize the dimensions (width, length, and height), windows, paneling, doors, foundation, and more.
Yes, you can expand your metal building in the future. But keep in mind that we only offer any expansions and alterations to the structure that was originally sourced by Panhandle Metals. Additionally, note that additional fees will apply to alterations, delivery, and installation.
The tallest leg height we manufacture at Panhandle Metals is 20'.
The dimensions of a metal building are always measured in Width x Length x Height. For example, if a carport's dimensions are 18' x 30' x 9', which means it’s 18 feet wide, 30 feet long, and 9 feet tall.
Yes, we do provide a warranty on metal buildings. All of our buildings in Texas are backed by a workmanship warranty of 30 days and a rust-through warranty of 20 years.
